When the sun risen of 18th March, I started my day with Namaz and
then by the time got busy in other routine chores. All day along I heard about Match
that though Pakistan lost the match but Afridi’s inning made the match catchy
and entertaining.
In
evening when I opened my Facebook account, Afridi was all over, but in height
of sixes of Afridi there were shrieks of sadden news which appeared quite heart
wrenching to me. The national hero, who became the pride of PAF in 1965 war between
Pakistan-India by knocking down the latest 5 aircraft of enemy in just one
minute by its outdated jet, was no more in this world.
I came to know about this news through a Pak-Army fan page, i was shocked and lost in this news that why i could not know about this news throughout the day. i felt awkward that I am not up to date about current affairs and news world. Later I checked updates on FB pages of news channel but I didn’t find any such news, then I visited all news channels for checking the authenticity of news but of no use.
I called a friend for confirmation of news he laughed at my ignorance and confirmed the news. I was astonished that what is the matter then I figured out that Pakistan in which we are living is not Pakistan of Pakistanis, neither Iqbal’s Pakistan nor Quaid’s Pakistan rather this is ‘Bal Thakrey’s Pakistan’.
This is surely not M M Alam’s Pakistan because if M M Alam would be an Indian then his news would surely appear on our media as all Indian news gets coverage on our media whether it is about Amitabh’s birthday, Yash Chpra’s death, fight between Shahrukh and Salman or about Bal Thakrey’s death. If any of such incident took place we not only have knew it but we must have been discussing it. The news ironically could not take place in our media because he is a national hero and he will remain a national hero, media probably cannot held accountable because media is all about entertainment and love to telecast the stuff that can attract people. Media should realize that nation want to see the defenders of Pakistan, people want to know about the soldiers that are defending Pakistan in the glacial heights of Siachen, in blazing deserts of Cholistan and in depths of sea. No one can pay a soldier for the bullet he bears on his chest for his country; there is no price of blood.

M M Alam and many like him are the National Hero of Pakistan, they are the
pride of Pakistan and we will remember them as the proud sons of soil. There
blood will never be elapsed. Nation will
never forget their sacrifices; they gave their lives so that we can breathe freely
in Pakistan. These heroes are to live forever. Pakistan Zindabad!
